Celebration of World Environment Day by CGI, Birgunj.
1. As part of Celebrations of "Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav" ( India @75) and to commemorate the World Environment Day, the Consulate General of India in Birgunj organized Sapling Plantation Program in the orchard of Indian Embassy Bungalow, Raxaul, Bihar on 06 June 2022.
2. Shri Lal Babu Raut Gaddi, Chief Minister of Madhesh Pradesh was the Chief Guest in the program. About 30 dignitaries of Nepal and Bihar comprising MLAs of Parsa district of Nepal, Mayor of Birgunj Metropolitan City, Deputy Commissioner of Indian Customs, Manger of Land Ports Authority of India etc.participated in the program. The planted saplings included camphor, burflower tree, jackfruit etc.
3. Celebration of World Environment day reminds of United Nations' resolve to create awareness among the people to protect and preserve environment by planting trees for the benefits of future generations. Tree Plantation also prevents air pollution and thus prevents several diseases. It also raises concerns about environmental degradation, climate change and other issues related to environment with an objective to save the nature and to make the planet earth livable.
